I think it's safe to say that we've already established the demise of skinny jeans over the past few years. And it's hard not to see the shift, as everywhere I look, denim outfits are getting more and more relaxed, and because of it, non–skinny jeans are officially becoming the go-to style for fashion people everywhere. It's just a pattern I noticed—I promise I'm not purposefully hating on skinnies. (If you love them, do you!)

Okay, you're a fashion person, and you're not reaching for skinny jeans on the daily. Well, what are you reaching for? My prediction for the rest of 2024 and beyond is low-rise baggy jeans. I know you're thinking: "There's no way in hell that low-rise jeans will become my go-to style," but hear me out: This new wave of low-rise jeans isn't the tight, hip-hugging kind from the early aughts that has us all emotionally damaged. Instead, it's more of a low-slung fit. In other words, they're relaxed jeans that just happen to be baggy enough to sit low on your hips. They've bubbled for a minute, but 2024 is the year this style will hit its stride, and trendsetting denim brands like Agolde and Re/Done are already behind some of the standout pairs defining the look.

I went ahead and sourced the following pairs along with more of the best low-rise baggy jeans on the internet right now. You know, just in case you wanted to get in on things. Keep scrolling to shop all my favorites and gain inspiration on how to style them along the way.

Style Tip: These jeans were basically made for wearing with a slim sweater tucked in. A leather belt and blazer add more structure to the baggy look.

Style Tip: Sharp tailoring like a waistcoat adds a cool polish to the relaxed denim.

Style Tip: Offset the ultra-baggy vibe of the jeans with a simple top and fun jewelry. The crop top is optional.

Style Tip: Wearing a tight-fitting top like a simple white tank is key here to contrast the jeans' volume.
