From Swan to Boho, All of Fall 2024's Top Trends Are Under $100 at H&M
As much as I'll miss the halter tops, sundresses, and Bermuda shorts I wore all summer, the time has come to transition into fall dressing. As arguably fashion's favorite season, this should be an exciting period—a time to experiment with all the fall trends we witnessed debut on the runways back in February. However, doing so can be expensive—very expensive. Yes, I want a floor-length, funnel-neck Ferragamo coat, a Phoebe Philo scarf jacket, and Chloé cashmere joggers. Can I afford to buy them all? Absolutely not.
That's where this under-$100 shopping guide comes in. In an effort to save myself (and all of you) a few hundred or even thousand dollars this autumn, I scoured H&M's entire fall offering and organized its best pieces into trends from the runway and beyond. There's a touch of boho, some bits of swan, and lots of chic, elevated outerwear à la Bottega Veneta, Victoria Beckham, Proenza Schouler, and more. So what are you waiting for? Your fall wardrobe's just a few scrolls away—no financial guilt required.
Worked Up
Haven't you heard? Barn jackets and other utility-focused outerwear are *the* trend of fall 2024—period. If there's one item that you need to score ahead of the chillier weather, it's a contrast-collar jacket made of canvas, denim, or waxed cotton. And while most of the really good styles cost around $200, H&M's made it easy to get in on the trend on a budget, with multiple options going for less than $100.

Suiting 101
To be honest, this trend is more taken from the S/S 25 runways than the F/W 24 ones, but since I already know that people will be getting in on it far earlier than spring, I figured why not include it here and get ahead of the surge in popularity? Thanks to Saint Laurent and Bella Hadid, suits have never been more sought-after, leading to a ton dropping at H&M that need to be seen (and shopped) ASAP.

Boho's Back
Chemena Kamali's debut runway collection for Chloé singlehandedly brought boho back, and the entire fashion world's better for it. We're now looking at chiffon, over-the-knee boots, wide-leg jeans, and clogs differently, ushering in a very exciting and fresh-feeling season of dressing. H&M apparently knows it too because the brand's new-arrivals section is stocked with boho-inspired dresses, blouses, and more, all of which are under $100 and selling out like crazy.

Swan Song
If looking elegant's your goal as we close out 2024 and head into 2025, the picks below are exactly what you've been searching for. For fall 2024, brands like Carven, Prada, Altuzarra, and Michael Kors made elegance the centerpiece of their collections, and now, so has H&M. Think gloves, exquisite tailoring, sharp silhouettes, and luxurious fabrics like tweed and satin.

Power Coats
Big, in-your-face outerwear has been a dominant force in fall and winter for a few years now, ever since Saint Laurent introduced its F/W 22 collection, which included a plethora of floor-sweeping, strong-shouldered coats deserving of awe and praise. Now, the bigger the coat is, the better, with long hemlines, high necks, structured shoulders, and more all playing a role.

A Leopard's Spots
Leopard prints have been slow-crawling their way back into fashion's good graces over the last few fall seasons, with Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy really being the driving force. Her incorporation of the controversial print into her '90s wardrobe proved that a leopard's spots don't have to be loud or over-the-top but can be styled in a minimalist way that fashion girls today are standing behind. Ferragamo, Alaïa, Saint Laurent, and Prada have all hopped on board the leopard-print trend for fall, solidifying its position at the top of fashion's charts this season.
